WHAT IS THE SUNSHINE BLOGGER AWARD?
If you have any connection to the WordPress Community, I am sure you have heard of the Sunshine Blogger Award. It’s a wonderful opportunity for bloggers to bring recognition to their favorite bloggers. More specifically, bloggers who inspire and bring good to the blogger community. I feel honored to be nominated because it debunks the idea in my head that my work is going unnoticed.

11 Questions for Me to Answer:
How do you identify? I am gay, and I go by he/him pronouns.
What does Queer Visibility mean to you? It means that I, along with everyone else, can be expressive with a sexuality and gender without being treated different. It means that a gay man can get the same attention as a straight man. Freedom without persecution.
If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be? I would change how people are viewed. Instead of being viewed by our weight, skin color, what we wear, or how we act, we would be viewed by who we are on the inside. Let’s stop judging people for things that makes them who they are.
Is your blog just for fun, or do you have a message to share? Though I talk about so much, I definitely try putting a spotlight on the LGBTQ+ Community and mental health. I want my message to be freedom to be who you want to be. If you want to be that person that references superheroes every 5 minutes, be that person. If you are that person that wears clothes that aren’t traditionally assigned to your gender, be that person. If you have been diagnosed with depression or any other mental health disorder, don’t be afraid to speak up. Everyone’s voices deserve to be heard.
Who are some of your favourite Queer artists or inspirations? There are so many! Keiynan Lonsdale has impressed me lately with his music. His confidence in his sexuality is so inspiring! Ellen Degeneres is very inspiring! She came out before it was a trend, and that took a lot of bravery. A few other LGBTQ+ artists or public figures that I love are Troye Sivan, Ben Platt, Kim Petras, King Princess, Billy Porter, and the entire cast of Are You the One? Season 8.
What do you love most about yourself? I tried thinking of a physical feature for this, but I honestly couldn’t think of one. I guess I do like my eyes, but I don’t love them. Therefore, I’d have to go with my creativity. It has literally saved my life. I use my creativity anytime I’m going through a rough patch. I use my creativity to turn something bad into something good. When you’re creative, the possibilities are endless.
What’s your favourite anthem at the moment? Either Body by Julia Michaels or OK by Mabel. I can’t choose between those two. Body is about wanting to love your body even though you don’t. OK is about being content with having anxiety. I will admit that those topics aren’t like dance-in-the-club topics, but all I listen to are sad songs. If I had to choose a more upbeat song, it is definitely Rain by Ben Platt. I just feel what he is saying in that song. UGH I love that man. I love dancing to that song so it counts. The topic is more like dance-in-your-room than dance-in-the-club, but I don’t care. 🙂
What is your favourite part of sharing thoughts and art online? It helps with my drive to actually do something. Since I am sharing my work online, it gives me more motivation to do it. I have always loved to write books, but I never get far with my books because I am not sharing each chapter with people. It gives me more drive to write something when I know someone is reading it at that moment. When working on a book, people won’t be reading it until it is all finished which is a very long process.
Your favourite inspirational quote or mantra? I don’t really think of this as much as I should, but at the moment, it has to be like every quote by Maya Angelou. I am trying to choose one, but it is so hard. I guess I will go with “If you’re always trying to be normal, you will never know how amazing you can be.”, but my second favorite is actually on my home page on my very first post.
How’s your day going? Be as transparent as you’re willing to be My day has gone okay, but I guess you could say overall, I have a lot going on. This was still a decent day though. I was able to just let go of all the stress and enjoy my day.
Are you proud? I have a lot of pride in my sexuality because I am me and I never thought there would come a day where I would be myself. I am disappointed in other categories of myself, but I am working on that.
